3 words

One of the things I ask my clients early on in our coaching journey together is, “what three words, values describe you?”

You can see my three words in the picture above.

I also ask a second question. “If I was to ask one of your close friends three words to describe you, what would they be? Would they be similar or different?”

I ask the second question because how we see ourselves and how we show up for others can be quite different. We are defined not by what we say, by what we do, by the actions we take. As the saying goes, “actions speak louder than words.”

Your words, values and actions must be in alignment with one another

Wheel of life

When you live your life congruent with your values, you are more contented, happy and have less stress and anxiety. Think of it as the wheel of your life perfectly round like a wheel on your car where every area of your daily life e.g.; work, relationship, career, health to name a few are in alignment. it would be a pretty smooth ride don’t you think?

Now think of your daily life with all the stresses it brings, all the highs and lows? Some of the areas of your life are out of alignment. It wouldn’t feel great, would it? Be like driving a car with a flat tyre pretty bumpy and not enjoyable?

That’s why it’s crucial to help my clients identify their values. Our values ( you can read more on values here ) are what matters to us; what’s important, what we focus on; they make us take action (or not take action) – they are part of our motivation. Values drive an individual’s choices and decisions. They determine the actions we take.

Take a look at how you spend your time; that will give you a good indication of your core values.

A gift

A client sent me a gift this morning, a wrist band with my three words inscribed on it. The thought touched me and was a lovely gift to remember our coaching journey together.

When I called to thank her, she told me the three words I helped identify herself with have been so profound in the actions she takes. So, she decided to have a wrist band made with her own three words to remind her of what she stands for. And as a gift, she had one made for me.

You can see mine here.

What 3 words describe you?

Take action

Why not give me a call to find out how I can help you discover the three words that define who you are and what you stand for. And the actions you need to take.

Contact me to book a convenient time to have a chat. If all this call did was to inspire you into action, would it worth it?

Thank you for taking the time to stop by and read. I appreciate it.

Like what you read, spread the word! I bet you know a lot of like-minded people that would benefit from this conversation. Please share this post with them on social media.
